An icon of Australia, Haigh's Chocolates has been producing fine chocolates since 1915. The flagship store on Beehive Corner opened in 1922 and has been serving up some of Australia's best sweets ever since. You can visit the Visitors Centre at the factory in Parkside, or stop by one of the stores for a taste of what makes this chocolaterie so well-known.

Adelaide's premier sport stadium is the Adelaide Oval, where everything from AFL and cricket to rugby and tennis are played. The ground has also hosted huge musical acts including David Bowie, AC/DC and Ed Sheeran. If you don't have the chance to catch a game or a gig while you are in Adelaide, you can do a tour of the ground.

Adelaide seems to have shaken off its "City of Churches" image and has now built a strong reputation as an awesome food and wine destination. But those churches are still there and still just as beautiful, the most famous being the landmark St Peters Cathedral. You can visit daily (during selected hours) and free guided tours are available Sunday at 12:30pm and Wednesday 11:00am.

Founded in 1881, the Art Gallery of South Australia houses the state's art collection in one of Adelaide's most beautiful buildings. On show are works from Australia, Europe, North America and Asia.
