Summer is approaching, so why not make the most of the warmer months? We have listed our top favourite activities to do during Adelaide’s summer.

Picnic in the Botanic Gardens
There is nothing better than soaking up the sun amidst soft grass and blossoming flora. Pack a picnic and visit Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens for a peaceful day away from the city’s hustle and bustle. Take a bike to roam the tracks or simply walk and marvel at the range of the manicured greenery covering the area.

Cleland Wildlife Park
Get up close and personal with the Australian Wildlife! In the Adelaide Hills, this wildlife park is covered in bushland and is home to some of the most beloved animals Australia is famous for. Pat a kangaroo, cuddle a Koala, and let a snake curl up your arm!

Adelaide Oval
For the sports fanatics out there, no greater place in the Summer is the Adelaide Oval. See the strikers play their Twenty20 season of cricket. There is a range of seating selections on offer, letting you sit in front row for the action or simply look from an afar as you enjoy the dining experiences available.

Christmas Market
This may be strange for some, but with summer comes Christmas! Instead of stockings by the fire, Australia celebrates the holidays in shorts and thongs, enjoying the sun as they barbeque in the backyard. One of the great bonus’ is the hot summer nights, which are perfect for the Christmas Markets. Stroll down the street and visit some of the many stalls on offer. Picking up Christmas presents, delicious snacks, and cool refreshing drinks.

Beerenberg Strawberry Farm
Summertime equals Strawberry time! Between November and April, its strawberry season, and a visit to the family-owned Beerenberg Strawberry Farm is an activity not worth missing. Instead of simply grabbing these delicious fruits off the shelf, Beerenberg gives you an opportunity to pick them yourself! Grab a basket at the gate and hunt to find the most perfect bunch of rosy red strawberries you can find.

Sip on the local wine
What’s better than sipping on a delicious crisp white as you soak up those sun rays? Adelaide is famous for supplying some of Australia’s greatest wines to the rest of the world. Barossa Valley, only a short drive from the city, is a haven for lush scenery and spectacular vineyards. Stop into as many wineries you can handle to see the difference in each glass!
