Adelaide is a bustling city with excellent food and wine, shopping, and natural history.

Adelaide is known for its wine, entertainment, and welcoming atmosphere. The city is quite small but most things are only about 20 minutes away within the city centre! Spend at least three days in Adelaide to explore the city, beaches, and a wine region.

Barossa Valley wine tour

Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is one of the most well known wine regions in Australia. With some of the best shiraz in the world, you can’t go wrong with a Barossa Valley wine tour!

You’ll visit wineries that produce world class and award winning wines and even taste some of them. You’ll try anything from a sparkling rosé to a fresh white wine and a bold Barossa red wine.

Adelaide City tour

Adelaide City

If it’s your first time in Adelaide, a city tour is perfect for you. A city tour will take you through the beautiful streets to see modern day and even heritage sights while you hear stories and facts.

A half day city tour will take you around the city and to the National Wine Centre to learn about wine production. You’ll have the chance to walk through the Wine Discovery Journey Museum or try some of the wines available. The centre is also at the Botanic Gardens, so you’ll be around the lush gardens and see the beauty of the plants and flowers.

The tour concludes at the Adelaide Oval to see the Donald Bradman statue or the historic St Peters Cathedral. After the tour, you can make your way to Adelaide Zoo and spend the afternoon seeing exotic and native animals.

McLaren Vale wine tour

McLaren Vale

McLaren Vale often gets overshadowed by the famous Barossa Valley! But don’t let that stop you from vising the region and tasting some of its award winning wines.

Enjoy a day stopping at different wineries and tasting a delicious range of McLaren Vale wines. At the wineries, you’ll learn about the history and how the wines you’re tasting are produced.

There are half day tours or a full day tour which include Hahndorf which is a small German town. Hahndorf is a good additional stop to spend some time seeing the town and trying traditional German food.

To make the best of the warm weather in Adelaide, it’s best to visit from January to February! The beaches will be perfect to visit, and the weather is perfect when you’re exploring the city and doing a wine tour.
