If you’d prefer to see the sights while on the move, there are many scenic trails for hikers and cyclists. The 3.8km Waterfall Gully circuit is one of Adelaide’s most popular exercise routes because of its spectacular views and clear trail. Crafers, on the other hand, is the mountains newest trail. While it may be 4.5km, it only rises a total of 140m, which compared to Waterfall Gully’s 400m rise, makes for a much easier hike.
You’ll want to stay a little longer to enjoy the blend of a nice, hot cup of coffee at the Summit Restaurant and Café. If you’d rather have a bite to eat then you’ll have a great choice of delicious meals. Eat with a spectacular view through their floor to ceiling windows. Just below the summit of Mt Lofty lies the Cleland Wildlife National Park. Here you can roam freely among the kangaroos and wallabies, and meet emu.
