The Adelaide Hills are a 30-minute drive away from the city centre. Nestled in the hills is a cute little German town of Hahndorf. This town truly grasps German heritage! Virtually unchanged since its German settlement, this town encapsulates everything German. Grab a stein of tasty German beer. Admire the German architecture, and much in some classic German cuisine. Scout out one of the town’s cosy pubs and warm up with a hot drink!

Autumn changes see the trees turning a reddish crimson colour, adorned with honey and amber leaves. Don’t miss this very picturesque town in the autumn and soak up the chilled vibe of the small town with its local artisanal treats and autumnal walks.

Mount Lofty Botanic Garden

For a truly gorgeous autumnal view, take a wander around some of the pretty hills that surround Adelaide. Part of the Mount Lofty area, the Botanical Gardens are set with varying species of trees that boast an autumnal plumage of orange and red leaves.

Near Adelaide, you can check out Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. This was first opened in 1977. It’s along the Eastern side of the Adelaide Hills. Visiting in the autumn is the best time, because of the vast array of colours here!
