Glenelg Beach is Adelaide’s centre of all things good, fun and vibrant. This buzzing beach – Adelaide’s most beloved – is home to an expansive shorefront of pearl white sand and crystal-clear waters!
And that’s just the beach itself: Glenelg is also home to the super fun Glenelg Foreshore Playground and elegant Moseley Square, both great places to enjoy a gorgeous Adelaide summer day.
You will also be stoked to know that yes, Glenelg Beach is very safe to swim. Glenelg offers an uber clean, ultra safe place to have a nice refreshing dip, with your classic Aussie flags and lifeguards also on hand to ensure the goods time are had in the safest way possible!
Glenelg is easily one of Adelaide’s top places to have a swim, a meal and a beer, alongside experiencing these wonderful sites:
The River Torrens
Adelaide is unlike Australia’s other major cities as it has kept most of its old school charm and not had skyrises and urban development overrun the whole thing!
This makes it a pretty perfect town for a river walk, and the Torrens provides plenty of local beauty and serenity for those looking to traverse the “20 Minute City” by foot.
Simply stroll along the lush River Torrens banks, where along the way you will come across many charming spots to stop for a bite and a coffee before continuing on to take in this vibrant town from its beautiful natural waterway…
Chinatown
Adelaide’s Chinatown offers an awesomely compact alternative to those in other major cities, and is the best place in town to grab a delectable meal and enjoy some of the city’s rich Chinese heritage.
Situated on the southeast end of the CBD, take yourself through the shining entrance gates and find yourself amongst the myriad of five star restaurants, family eateries, wine bars, food courts and pubs that make up this awesome part of the CBD!
Mount Lofty Ranges
Situated just outside the city proper (don’t worry – it’s not even a whole day trip!), the Mount Lofty Ranges are some of the most picturesque scenery in the whole of South Australia.
Be sure to head to head up Mount Lofty Peak, which provides expansive views across Adelaide city. One of the best ways to experience the city’s serene natural side, you will get an idea of just how compact this vibrant town is from the incredible Mount Lofty Peak!
